The Scottish Borders is a haven for golfers, with 21 superb golf courses, fantastic scenery and unbeatable value for money.

The Freedom of the Fairways pass is Scotland’s best-selling golf passport, with great-value three and five-day options, and over-55s can enjoy even further savings.

The Galashiels, Melrose and Torwoodlee golf courses are right on the Maplehurst doorstep, Selkirk and St Boswell’s a stone’s throw away, and within a few miles you’ll find over 20 of Scotland’s loveliest and challenging golf courses, including the panoramic hillsides of Hawick and Newcastleton, and Britain’s Most Extraordinary Golf Hole across the crashing waves of the North Sea at Eyemouth.

Make time after your golf round for some of the best 19th holes in the country, including fabulous restaurants at the Roxburghe Hotel, the Woll and many others. There are also some great informal 9-hole courses for golfers just starting out. The Scottish Borders is a friendly place, and we welcome a lot of golfers at Maplehurst, so just ask us for insider recommendations.

In the meantime, you’ll find a taster of golf courses in the Borders from the VisitScotland e-brochure and more useful links here.
