Maplehurst Guest House is a magnificent Arts and Crafts home set in its own quiet, tree-lined grounds on the edge of Galashiels in the Scottish Borders – just a five-minute drive from the new railway station.

Built in 1906 for a local mill owner, Andrew Fairgrieve, the house combines the best of the Scottish Arts and Crafts style with quirky Canadian touches in honour of Mr Fairgrieve’s wife, Carrie.

The original Arts and Crafts interior features include tapestries, rich oak panelling and the beautiful stained glass window, A Woman with Fruit. Contemporary art, antiques and period details mean there’s always something interesting to see. Be sure to make time to relax and enjoy the gorgeous Maplehurst reception room!

Maplehurst is more than a guest house – it’s an experience! Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just passing through the Scottish Borders, you can be sure of a memorable stay in this unique Arts and Crafts haven.
